Peter Ibsen is a Danish art collector and owner of the gallery Sunday-S. He runs the art blog Copenhagen Contemporary where he features interviews and Q&A's with contemporary international artists.

"I have been a collector for many years and a full-time gallery owner for the past four. I live, dream, breathe art and the whole insanely exciting universe that comes with it. I love discovering and supporting new young and unknown artists. It’s amazing how much of a joy it is for them to just sell their first works".

"Art can open a door to a parallel universe that functions on completely different planes than the traditional world. It forces you to stop and think about what it is you are facing.

It's not just the things you see that are interesting, it's also all the things you don't see. The things you have to discover, explore, immerse yourself in. It shouldn't be easy. The spectator must be thorough. It also means that you must read and seek out things, not just watch."

"Right now, I’m inspired by a young German artist, Adrian Altintas, who makes the most magical works. He paints behind the canvas, and then adds an extra layer of cotton canvas.

His method forces you to spend a lot of time in front of the painting, the work is hidden and appears so slowly. Pure magic, so fine and delicate. I believe he's a name to look after."

I get more and more obsessed with the two-toned sunglasses. Earlier, it was quite grandpa to wear those but now it’s cool. Or perhaps I have become a bit of a grandpa myself.”

"If I could freely choose a work of art? It's easy. It's a work you can neither own nor buy by Yves Klein. He did a solo show in Paris many years ago with nothing in the room but a blue cocktail. The guests were to drink it and leave again, that was it. People were mad, they felt fooled, some even called the police. The following days everyone's urine was blue (the drink contained Methylene blue - Ed). I think that's a brilliant work of art.
