A true test of durability – Christian Martischius
As photojournalist and expedition leader Christian Martischius is usually found behind the lens on his travels. This summer, LINDBERG got an opportunity to get a candid and insightful look into his 1.100 km expedition through Alaska’s wilderness.
For years, Christian wore the same pair of LINDBERG air titanium rim frames every day. The glasses were his constant companion on every adventure – whether he was documenting riots and protests as a photojournalist or travelling some of the most remote and rough parts of the world as an expedition leader; “I’m super happy with my battered air titanium rim frames. They survived everything from sandstorms and blizzards to documenting urban riots or caving expeditions.”
When Christian began to plan the arctic expedition to Alaska, he decided that the old pair of LINDBERGs had served their purpose. Having experienced the incredible durability of the glasses, he had no doubt that LINDBERG eyewear was suitable for the unforgiving conditions of the Arctic and his adventurous life.
In late May 2022, Christian and his travel companion embarked on the expedition through the Alaskan wilderness. With him, he had his new LINDBERG glasses. The expedition went through Alaska’s most remote and untraveled areas, offering them a chance to experience a real adventure.
“We had everything from thunderstorms to raging headwinds, wildfires and a lot of equipment failures, but my LINDBERG glasses worked just perfect, even in the worst conditions”
